1. Core Commercial & Shipping Documents (核心商業與裝運文件)

  • Proforma Invoice (PI / 形式發票): Issued before production begins. States the machine specs, payment terms, and estimated lead time — the buyer uses it to apply for local import licenses or open a Letter of Credit (L/C).
  • Commercial Invoice & Packing List (商業發票與包裝單): The definitive documents detailing the final value, gross/net weight, and dimensions of the cargo. For CNC machines, the packing list also states how many wooden crates or pallets are included.
  • Bill of Lading (B/L / 海運提單): The most important shipping document, acting as the title of the goods. Issued by the ocean carrier once the machine is safely loaded onto the vessel. Telex Release (電放) means the original B/L is surrendered at origin, so the buyer can claim the cargo without a paper B/L — requires a signed and stamped Telex Release Undertaking (電放切結書) from the exporter.

4. Key Timing (Sea Freight) — Always Confirm With the Carrier (關鍵時程－海運)

The exact closing time (截關時間) for cargo and documents is set independently by each shipping line for each sailing — it is not a fixed rule. Depending on the carrier and vessel schedule, the cutoff can fall around midday, as late as 17:00 the same day, or — with an extended closing — as late as noon the next day. Always confirm the actual closing time with the shipping line or forwarder for your specific booking.

  • Provide IV + PL + 裝櫃明細表 to the customs broker well ahead of the confirmed closing time
  • Cargo must reach the container yard (CY) before the carrier's cutoff — same-day midday, same-day 17:00, or (for an extended closing) next-day noon, depending on the sailing
